ESSAY FORMATTING

1. APA formatting (including cover page which never counts toward the assignment length). If you would prefer to use MLA, you can - just be consistent throughout the entire essay.

2. Double-spaced

3. 1" margins

4. 12 pt. Times New Roman

5. Review SAMPLE PAPER from OWL Purdue. 

Reminders for Slide Presentations

1.  No Names/Identifiers

2. Expand any graphs/charts to the FULL SCREEN so they can easily be read/seen. Don't just use the template.

3. No more than ONE data point (graph, chart, infographic) per slide (unless a need for comparison exists.

4. A Picture can Speak a Thousand Words

5. Bullet Points should serve a purpose (to add emphasis or to assist comprehension of complex or technical material)

6. Remember the 5 x 5 rule. 

7. Be careful of contrasting colors (avoid dark fonts on dark slides) 

8. No video/music -- Keep animation to a minimum.

9. Cite photo link with a tiny font underneath the photo (and include in the Works Cited slide)

10. Works Cited slide at the end - includes any photos and citations from the presentation.
